PEORIA (25News Now) -After a delay in funding by the Department of Human Services, a senior nutrition program has resumed.
Program Director for Direct Services for Age Central, formerly the Central Illinois Agency on Aging, Shannon Peterson, said seniors were asked to hold on to their coupon books.
The seniors were able to pick up the coupon books at The Neighborhood House on Monday and can pick them up again on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The NH is going to continue to add distribution days until the coupons are fully distributed,” said Peterson. “We are also providing our seniors with a list of local farmers’ markets that accept the coupons.”
