PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A Peoria City Council member was appointed to a new position by Gov. JB Pritzker on Monday.
Pending confirmation by the Illinois Senate, Andre Allen will serve as a member of the Tri-County River Valley Development Authority, Pritzker said.
"Allen is a collaborative and results-driven leader with extensive experience in government administration, civic engagement, and higher education," Pritzker said.
In addition to his seat on the Peoria City Council, Allen also serves as a liaison to CityLink and the Police-Community Relations Advisory Committee.
The Tri-County River Valley Development Authority is one of ten regional economic development authorities that exist throughout Illinois. The authority helps improve the local workforce by supporting new infrastructure and creating job opportunities, according to its website.
