CHICAGO — On Thursday, January 18, over 450 journalists from across the country met at the United Center to tour the building and start planning their coverage of the Democratic National Convention.

The event, where the Democratic party will select a final Presidential nominee, will take place from August 19 through 22.

In addition to Thursday’s tour and briefings, the Democratic National Convention Committee revealed a new logo for the Convention.

“This logo is designed to capture the strength, unity, and pride that people across the country have in the United States of America,” said DNCC Executive Director Alex Hornbrook. “Come August, our job will be telling a story that demonstrates these qualities to the American people and showcases the record and vision of President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats.”

The logo uses design elements like the Chicago star near the bottom as a nod to the host city.

The Democratic National Convention Committee made the announcement in April 2023 that Chicago was chosen as the official location for the Convention.
