Where do you stand on declawing cats?
Democratic State Representative Barbara Hernandez of Aurora has introduced a proposed bill that would ban declawing cats and other similar procedures. The only exception would be if the declawing is for a therapeutic purpose.
The Illinois Department of Agriculture could fine you $500 for a first violation of declawing a cat up to $2,500 for a third or subsequent violation. The declawing ban has been referred to the Rules Committee.
