Governor JB Pritzker says the strict Tier Three restrictions put in place several weeks ago will remain in place for several more weeks at least, even if some regions of the state show the kind of improvement that might otherwise allow the restrictions to be loosened.

That’s because Pritzker says there are very real concerns that people did not closely follow public health guidelines over Thanksgiving… which could mean another big surge in cases in the weeks to come.

Pritzker says he made the decision in consultation with experts, including leading infectious disease specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci.
