Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder has made his pick for the city’s next fire chief.

Brandon Blough has been with the department since 1999, working his way up the ranks to become Deputy Division Chief of Operations in 2018. If confirmed by the City Council, he will replace retiring Chief Allen Reyne, whose last day with the department was Monday.

Blough will serve as acting chief until a final confirmation vote, expected on December 15^th.
