Governor JB Pritzker is expressing sorrow at the deadly shooting at a California synagogue over the weekend and says no one, whether Jewish, Muslim, or Christian, should ever feel threatened in a house of worship.
Pritzker says it feels like society is taking a step backwards… and puts part of the blame on national rhetoric that he calls “wrong.” Pritzker points to President Trump’s comments after a 2017 neo-Nazi march in Charlottesville, Virgina, saying there were “very fine people on both sides.”
Pritzker — who is Jewish is taking part in a Tuesday night memorial service in Springfield for victims of the synagogue shooting.
