At the end of a press conference, a reporter asked Illinois Governor JB Pritzker why he thought Trump was mentioning him so much, whether it was about him or an attack on Illinois to rally his voters.
Without missing a beat, Pritzker quipped, "I think he’s jealous of my weight loss."
Give Pritzker two points for that one. The first one is the obvious zinger on Trump’s ever-increasing weight. The subtler point is how easily Pritzker delivered it. In contrast, Trump has to rehearse the same line over and over again and then still gets it wrong. That’s what makes it so effective.
I said what I said — I think Donald’s jealous of my weight loss. https://t.co/YlUticQDQZ
