Darren Bailey, a Republican who is currently running for 2026 Governor of Illinois, has disgusting views on many matters, and he is too far-right for Illinois.
If elected, his views will be completely different from current Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker. The last thing that we need is another conservative politician to police our every move.
During the 2022 run for Governor, current President Donald Trump endorsed Bailey, and Bailey happily welcomed this support.
“I welcome the endorsement. President Trump is a smart man,” Bailey said.
The fact that Bailey claimed that Trump is a “smart man” is concerning, and if you seriously agree with Bailey about this then who knows, maybe you will agree with his politics.
Bailey has concerning views, from his opinion on abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and the way that he is trying to gain traction for his campaign.
In a 2017 post on Facebook Bailey wrote, “The attempted extermination of the Jews of World War II doesn’t even compare on a shadow of the life that has been lost with abortion since its legalization.”
He later tried to defend himself by claiming that he “meant to emphasize the tragedy of millions of babies being lost.”
Mistake or not, the thought that this came across his mind as a good comparison is genuinely insane and disturbing. How can a fetus that isn’t even a person yet being aborted compare to the millions of Jewish people who were brutally killed during World War II?
It can’t.
Similarly, Bailey has said that there is no excuse for abortion, not even in cases of rape or incest, which is extremely disgusting.
Bailey is also against the LGBTQ+ community, and over the last few years has said many harmful statements.
“Gay people ‘have no more claims to special rights than child molesters or rapists,’” Bailey said.
How can you even compare someone’s sexuality to the cruel things that others do?
Don’t even get me started on how ironic it is to mention child molesters and rapists when you’re being endorsed by the worst offender, our own president.
On Bailey’s website, he has merchandise, with T-shirts labeled “Flush Pritzker. If it stinks, flush it,” and “Women for Bailey.”
Why any woman would want to endorse Bailey is beyond me, given the cruel things that he has said about them, including him being extremely pro-life, which takes away a woman’s right to choose.
If Bailey wins we will go to a level that is so far-right and controlled that we won’t be free again. With Trump in his corner, Bailey will make Illinois slowly decline to a place that we can’t come back from.
Although currently, JB Pritzker is in the lead in Illinois forecasts ratings for governors, and we need to keep it that way.
It’s important to vote, and we need to come together to save Illinois from Bailey. Although Pritzker is currently predicted to be in the lead, that can change at any time, so get out there, register, and vote on November 3rd.
