THE FOLLOWING IS A MARY CATHERINE ROBERSON CAMPAIGN RELEASE
Urbana, Ill. (October 8, 2026) – Mary Catherine Roberson, Democratic candidate for the 104th, has submitted a list of questions to the Champaign County Clerk regarding the ballot error that caused a suspension of early voting this past weekend.
If these questions are not answered promptly, on Tuesday morning the Roberson campaign will file a complaint and request for injunction with the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court.
The questions seek clarity on the number of incorrect ballots for each impacted race, information on the step-by-step process to ensure the full enfranchisement of every affected voter, and a request to view the process when corrected ballots are counted.
The Roberson campaign has also asked the Champaign County Clerk’s office to post updates on this situation on their website and social media pages every 48 hours to ensure the public is fully informed.
“Making sure every single voter can vote in every race for which they are eligible is essential. Those that represent us at the local and state level make decisions that greatly impact our daily lives. Voters and candidates need confidence that all of the votes they cast will count.”
Roberson said. Roberson also explained, “I have retained counsel, and will file a complaint with the 6th District on Tuesday if these questions are not answered in full. My campaign and the public deserve complete transparency from the Clerk’s office.”
