Illinois Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Darren Bailey made a stop in Alton this (Thursday) morning to support members of the Teamsters’ Union that have been on strike for about two weeks. The union represents 32 Alton Public Works and Park & Rec employees.

The issues, according to the union, are stall tactics & bargaining delays, unfair wages & health insurance, and contractual benefits such as comp-time. The Teamsters and the other unions representing city employees have been working without a contract since their old deals expired March 31^st.
