Governor J.B. Pritzker, Morris officials and others were at an event this morning commemorating the construction of a new runway at the Morris Airport.

Morris Mayor Chris Brown explains how the new runway will benefit Morris. 

Brown said the city received a grant over $10 million for the project a few years ago and bids were approved at a meeting in June.  

Meanwhile, Pritzker had this to say at the event this morning. 

Construction on the project will begin in a few weeks. We will more reaction on this story.
