In Illinois the last few years, if you were caught smoking or vaping in school, you wouldn’t just end up in the principals office – you’d find yourself with an actual police ticket and fine. But over the summer Illinois lawmakers passed a law to explicitly prevent police from ticketing and fining students for minor misbehavior at school.
