Tomorrow, Friday, August 15th, at 10:15 AM, Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton will host a Standing Up for Illinois: Protecting Women roundtable in Joliet to discuss the myriad ways federal policy changes will harm women in Illinois, including how President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act will affect women’s access to primary and reproductive healthcare, along with the economic implications for women from federal funding cuts.

This roundtable is a part of a statewide push by the Lt. Governor to continue Governor Pritzker’s Standing Up for Illinois tour. The Pritzker-Stratton administration is elevating the human cost of Trump’s cuts and emphasizing what damage may face Illinois families.

The forum will include Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton; Deputy Governor Grace Hou; Planned Parenthood of Illinois Interim President and CEO, CFO Tonya Tucker; Women Employed President and CEO Cherita Ellens; Former President and CEO, Shriver Center on Poverty Law and Chair of the Cook County Commission on Women’s Issues, Audra Wilson; Cheryl Picard, MSN, RNC-OB; and Melissa Simon, MD, MPH, Vice Chair for Research, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine

The event will be livestreamed on all of Lt. Gov. Stratton’s social media accounts.
