(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza (pictured) will not run for re-election. She made the announcement Wednesday morning in Chicago.
Mendoza, who has run for mayor of Chicago in the past, could do so again in 2027. All she said in her remarks Wednesday was that she would discuss her political future with her family.
Mendoza, who will leave office after having served ten years as the state’s check-writer-in-chief, has also served as Chicago city clerk and as a state representative.
