A local Illinois State Senator says he’s committed to bringing a driver’s service facility back to Aledo.
The Aledo DMV location closed on June 11 after the Secretary of State’s Office said it was unable to reach an agreement with its landlord on a new lease.
State Sen. Mike Halpin, a Democrat out of Rock Island, told WRMJ he’s been in talks with the Secretary of State’s Office to find a new location.
Halpin’s district includes Sherrard, New Windsor, and Alexis in Mercer County.
