Illinois State lawmakers held the first hearing on a bill, the End of Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act (SB 3499), that would legalize medically-assisted suicide for terminally ill adults.
Some say the bill is about choices for anyone suffering from a terminal illness, and other are concerned there are not enough safeguards. Our Quad Cities News correspondent Angelica Sanchez has more as supporters hope to push it through before the end of the session in May.
