ILLINOIS (WIFR) – WalletHub reports Illinois ranks within the top 20 most politically involved states, with 49.93% voter engagement.

According to a report from WalletHub, Illinois is ranked as the 19th most politically engaged state based on voter registration statistics and laws, the percentage of people who voted in recent elections and political contributions.

66.8% of eligible U.S. voters participated in the last presidential election, according to the report.

The state with the highest engagement is Maryland at 73.35%, and the state with the lowest is Arkansas at 15.42%.
