Illinois’ older adults are at increased risk for suicide

Older adults in Illinois are at an increased risk for suicide, according to recently released data from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Nearly 20% of suicides in Illinois were among people 65 years and older between 2020 and 2021, with white men disproportionately affected.
