HIGHLAND PARK — About a year after last year’s tragic parade shooting here, advocates are bringing an educational tour to the community this week to help with the healing and what’s next.

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance has been traveling the state for a few years now, helping students and others learn about the dangers of hate and intolerance and how to combat it.

The MMOT visits our local Recreation Center today and tomorrow afternoon. Make sure to take time and check it out:

The Mobile Museum of Tolerance is an arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center: https://mmot.com/. The MMOT is the first traveling education center of its kind in the United States and visits school districts and public places across Illinois to offer free education and awareness about the very real threat of hate and intolerance in our communities.

The MMOT has proven very popular since its creation, and is now booked to appear in school districts and libraries throughout Illinois well into 2025. The bus offers workshops and a hands-on educational platform to reach thousands of students and encourage them to speak against bullying, hate, racism, anti-Semitism, and much more.

The bus will visit your area:

  • Monday, June 26, and Tuesday, June 27
  • Noon to 6 p.m. each day
  • Recreation Center of Highland Park (Parking Lot)
  • 1201 Park Ave W., Highland Park
