The Democratically controlled Illinois Senate and House have approved a Fiscal Year 2024 budget. Republicans voted against the budget, including local Representative Mike Marron.
He says the increase in revenue the state has seen is because of inflation. But he says there is another side to consider.
However, Democratic State Senator Paul Faraci called the budget balanced and helps our local economy and protects funding for those who need it the most. He said it will increase spending for education and workforce development. It also helps people with disabilities and their families.
