(Chicago, IL) — Landmarks Illinois is unveiling its list of the 2023 Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois. The list includes the old Lawes Hotel in Charleston. Officials say the former hotel has suffered damage from deferred maintenance during its more than 30 years sitting vacant and unused. Other sites are located in Alexander, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and St. Clair counties.
