The Illinois House has unanimously approved a bill to protect kids during court hearings.
It would allow children who have been abused to testify remotely.
The goal is to avoid further traumatizing them by avoiding open court.
The bill’s author is State Rep. Adam Niemerg. He says kids should not have to be placed in the same room as their abusers to give their testimony.
The legislation moves to the Illinois Senate for consideration.
