Gov. JB Pritzker (pictured, right) is touring the state’s community colleges and Wednesday stopped at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield.
Pritzker, appearing at the Ag Simulation Lab at LLCC, bragged about fulfillment of all MAP grant applications, a change from what students under previous administrations experienced.
“The loss of my father not only took an emotional toll on my family, it also left a huge financial gap,” said Keziah Gragg (pictured, left), who plans to graduate this summer with an associate’s degree in agriculture. “As a recipient of this grant, Instead of leaving school with student loans, I will be graduating from Lincoln Land Community College debt free,” she said to applause.
Gragg said her experience as an equestrian got her interested in agriculture, and she plans to move on to a four-year university – still undecided as to which – to major in animal sciences.
