The political arm of the state’s largest public employees union is endorsing Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder for another term.
AFSCME’s PEOPLE Committee has made its picks in some of the contested races in the city, based upon the candidates’ voting records, questionnaires, and interviews.
In addition to supporting Langfelder over challenger Misty Buscher, the committee made endorsements in five contested aldermanic races – choosing incumbents Roy Wililams, Jr. in Ward 3 and Lakeisha Purchase in Ward 5, along with candidates Larry Rockford in Ward 4, Jennifer Notoriano in Ward 6, and John Houlihan in Ward 7.
