Rep. Rashid Welcomes Yusuf Vidal as Chief of Staff

BERWYN, Ill. – State Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid, D-Bridgeview, has named Yusuf Vidal as his chief of staff. Mr. Vidal will oversee district operations and support the development and enactment of Rep. Rashid’s legislative priorities.

“Yusuf has the passion, knowledge and experience to lead our office,” said Rashid. “I am thrilled to welcome him to the team, and I am excited to work with him to improve the lives of the working and middle-class families that make up the 21st District.”

Vidal brings over 10 years of experience in advocacy, government and organizing. He began his career with the Young Invincibles where he led advocacy efforts to expand apprenticeship programs and secure education funding. Most recently, he was the Senior Director of Policy and Engagement for Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Eira Corral Sepúlveda where he enhanced programs that assist women and minority-owned businesses access capital and professional development resources. Yusuf has a graduate degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

“I’m honored to be joining Rep. Rashid’s team as chief of staff, and working with him to fight for economic relief, affordable housing, and environmental protections,” Vidal said. “We are committed to making our office a hub for constituent services and support for any resident who needs it. I look forward to working on behalf of the wonderful and diverse communities that make up the 21st District.”
