WASHINGTON, D.C. — Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin is announcing he’s been re-elected to his post as the second most powerful Democrat in the Senate chamber.
Durbin said Thursday he was re-elected as the Senate Democratic Whip for the 118th Congress.
He’s served in the number two role in the caucus since 2005.
Durbin will also continue in his role as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
In an emailed statement, Durbin said Senate Democrats will continue working to achieve aims laid out by the Biden Administration, “and we will continue our work for the American people.”
