Durbin accepts lifetime achievement award from American Bar Association president

U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, recently met with Deborah Enix-Ross, the President of the American Bar Association (ABA). Durbin and Enix-Ross discussed the importance of enacting the bipartisan Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act, which would protect judges from physical threats by preventing their sensitive personal information from being shared online, and spoke further about ensuring that legal representation is affordable and available for litigants.

During their Nov. 16, 2022 meeting, Durbin was also presented with the ABA Lifetime Achievement Award for his longstanding commitment to improving the administration of justice and preserving the rule of law through the legislative process.

“I’ve been fortunate to work alongside ABA during my time in the Senate with the same shared common goal – equal justice under the law,” said Durbin. “It was an honor to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from President Enix-Ross today, and I look forward to continuing to work with the ABA to ensure that our judicial system serves every American.”
