Republican newcomer wins in 75th District; Democratic incumbent keeps 84th District –

Republican Jed Davis, of Newark, is the winner in the Illinois House 75th District race, winning 61 percent of the vote over Democratic opponent Heidi Henry of Marseilles.

Oswego Democratic incumbent Stephanie Kifowit is the winner in the 84th District over Republican opponent Joe West winning 65 percent of the vote.

Kifowit says that she’s excited about Illinois’ continued financial improvement.

Davis says that Illinois families are feeling the financial squeeze regardless of what Democrats are saying.

In the 83rd District, Democrat Matt Hanson is the winner over Republican Keith Wheeler who previously represented the 50th District. Hanson wins with 53 percent of the vote.

Wheeler, who is from Oswego, conceded the race and says that he’ll continue to work for the betterment of Illinois families during the remainder of his term.
