Pritzker gives Illinois Democrats another $2 million – Crain’s Chicago Business

According to the state board’s records, that brings donations by JB for Governor to the state party to $10.5 million for the year, $9 million of which has come since June’s primary election.

Additionally, during the third quarter (July through September), Pritzker also gave $1 million to the Cook County Democratic Party, $6 million to Democrats for the Illinois House and another $1 million to the Illinois Senate Democratic Fund. Alexi Giannoulias, running for secretary of state, and Kwame Raoul, running for a second term as Illinois attorney general, both received $1 million each.

Pritzker is also considered a big spender on the national level as contributions across the country have reached record levels, close to $7 billion, this midterm cycle. But Pritzker is hardly alone.

Darren Bailey, GOP candidate for governor, has had his campaign boosted by a $2 million donation from billionaire shipping and packaging magnate Dick Uihlein on Oct. 18, after the second and final gubernatorial debate. Uihlein has helped Bailey keep pace with Pritzker by putting $42 million into the independent People Who Play By The Rules political action committee run by conservative operator Dan Proft.
