NAPERVILLE, IL — The Naperville City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to move ahead with exploring options for an affordable housing development near the intersection of 103rd Street and Route 59, Daily Herald reports.
Naperville officials will continue to negotiate with Gorman and Co. to either lease the 22-acre site for 99 years or buy the land. Initial talks have included plans to set aside units affordable housing units for seniors and residents with disabilities.
According to Daily Herald, Gorman is proposing a decrease in property tax requirements, in addition to $1.9 million worth of grant funds.
