Lawmakers to vie Monday in Bi-State Softball Showdown

ST. LOUIS – Greater St. Louis, Inc. is bringing together legislative leaders from Illinois and Missouri for the 2022 Bi-State Softball Showdown in Busch Stadium celebrating the region’s bi-state, bipartisan cooperation.

Retiring  U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8. Missouri won the inaugural event last year 7-4.

“Even though one team will be in the field while the other is at bat, they are both the home team to us,” said GSL CEO Jason Hall. “St. Louis is incredibly lucky to have such a strong bi-state, bipartisan delegation that works together to drive pro-growth policy in Springfield and Jefferson City, and we want to take a moment to celebrate their efforts to move our metro forward.”

Team captains state Rep. Jay Hoffman of Illinois and state Rep. Dean Plocher of Missouri have released their rosters. Team Illinois also will be led by Honorary Captains state Rep. John D’Amico and Speaker Emanuel Chris Welch. Joining Plocher to lead Team Missouri will be Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe serving as an Honorary Captain.

Team Illinois will include Rep. Jamie Andrade, Jr., Sen. Omar Aquino, Rep. Avery Bourne, Rep. Kam Buckner, Rep. Tim Butler, Rep. Anthony DeLuca, Rep. LaToya Greenwood, Rep. Brad Halbrook, Rep. Sonya Harper, Sen. Mattie Hunter, Rep. Fran Hurley, Sen. Adriane Johnson, Rep. Mike Kelly, Rep. Lindsey LaPointe, Rep. Camille Lilly, Sen. Steve McClure, Rep. Martin McLaughlin, Rep. Cyril Nichols, Sen. Jason Plummer, Rep. Bob Rita, Rep. Dave Severin, Rep. Katie Stuart, Sen. Dave Syverson, Rep. Jawaharial Omar Williams, Rep. Patrick Windhorst, Rep. Lance Yednock and Rep. Michael Zalewski.

Team Missouri will include Rep. Marlon Anderson, Rep. LaKeySha Bosley, Sen. Justin Brown, Rep. Ron Copeland, Rep. Rick Francis, Rep. Kurtis Gregory, Rep. Mike Henderson, Rep. Hannah Kelly, Rep. Tracy McCreery, Rep. Jay Mosley, Sen. Caleb Rowden, Rep. Mark Sharp, Rep. Cody Smith and Rep. Lisa Thomas.
