Nikki Budzinski
– Today, the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) announced their endorsement of
Nikki Budzinski
to represent the new 13th Congressional District, which covers central and metro east Illinois. IDCCA President
Kristina Zahorik
released the following statement:
“Nikki’s life of advocacy illustrates her commitment to working men and women. She is a homegrown gal, dedicated to making life better for those in Illinois. She’s about fairness and opportunity. She’s the best candidate for this district, and one of our best hopes for maintaining our Democratic majority in Congress.”
The granddaughter of a union painter and a public-school teacher, Budzinski’s life and service demonstrates a commitment to protecting the rights, health, and safety of middle-class families, including firefighters and food service workers.
From an early age, she fought for fundamental fairness for workers while serving in positions for Democratic leaders. Before joining the Biden Administration, Nikki was a Senior Advisor to Governor JB Pritzker. In that role, she successfully brought workers and small businesses together to raise the minimum wage for all in Illinois.
“I couldn’t be prouder to have the support of the grassroots IDCCA,” said Nikki Budzinski. “They share my advocacy for helping working people get their fair share, as well as ensuring folks in every part of our state have a voice. I look forward to working with them representing and fighting for the 13th.”
