State Rep. Fran Hurley and state Sen. Bill Cunningham, will host their annual “Bike Across America” event on Saturday, June 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Mt. Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111th St.

“With school out and summer beginning, now is a great time to bring out your bike and join us for a fun, family-friendly ride around the neighborhood,” Hurley said.

“This will be a relaxing, family-focused event that we hope you can join.”

Officers from the Chicago Police Department 22nd District will provide escort as bicyclists travel around the community for about an hour, with four planned stops. At the conclusion of the ride, riders can meet back at the park for a healthy snack and to participate in a raffle for a child-sized bike.

The event is free, and no registration is required.
