Democrats Chelsea Laliberte Barnes and Nabeela Syed will face off in the June 28 primary for Illinois’ 51st District seat currently held by Republican state Rep. Chris Bos.

The candidates met with a member of the Daily Herald Editorial Board and a reporter to discuss their experience and positions on key issues including abortion, climate change, tax breaks and the economic fallout from the pandemic.
