The LaSalle County Veterans Assistance Commission is getting a new superintendent. Supt. Steven Kreitzer announced during the Nursing Home and VAC committee meeting Monday that he is leaving at the end of this month. Assistant Supt. Christa Hammers will take over in June.
Committee Member Mike Kasap thanked Kreitzer for what he has done for the last five year. He says he appreciates how the VAC has expanded services.
Hammers says the commission will advertise for a new employee in the next few months. She’s a veteran of the US Air Force and was hired not long after Kreitzer became superintendent.
