As Illinois COVID-19 metrics and hospitalizations move in a downward trend, it’s still not enough to lift the statewide mask mandate. Officials from Governor JB Pritzker’s office say they’re monitoring hospitalizations, hospital capacity, and case rates to make that decision but right now as the data stands, those metrics haven’t gone down enough to remove the mask mandate.
