Lawmakers got the chance to question the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Monday about a scathing audit report regarding the care of LGBTQ+ youth. The report, released in February, claims DCFS isn’t following its own procedures for protectingLGBTQ+ children in its care. Some of the findings include: The Department does not have a formal process in place to identify youth in care that may identify as LGBTQ.
