It’s a hot industry across the nation, but installing solar in the Land of Lincoln may take you longer than expected. “Right now, it’s broken,” Michelle Knox said. Knox is owner and founder of WindSolarUSA in Springfield. When asked to describe the current state of Illinois’ solar industry, “broken” is her word of choice. “We ran out of funds for large projects in spring of last year, about March,” Knox said.
