Illinois lawmakers are trying to limit how much carbon the state releases into the atmosphere. Carbon capturing is a very expensive technology, but one that could lead the fight against climate change. That’s why legislators want to study how ready Illinois is to implement the concept statewide. A bill (HB 165) that has already passed the House would create a task force made up of researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and energy experts.
