Bill would let more Illinois renters keep pets in their residence

A new bill in Illinois aims to remove a barrier for pet owners looking for housing. Senate Bill 154 would allow tenants to have at least two common household pets in their residence, regardless of the animal’s breed, size, or weight. This applies to residences funded under the Illinois Housing Development Authority Trust Fund. Assistant Majority Leader Sen. Linda Holmes, D-Aurora, is one of the cosponsors of this bill.
