The Illinois General Assembly, in session this week for the first time in many months, meets in the wake of a deadly shooting spree, perpetrated by a domestic violence offender who killed at least three people Saturday in Chicago and Evanston. Our elected officials now have an opportunity to pass a bill that will make it harder for people like that perpetrator, Jason Nightengale, to access deadly weapons.
