Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder has chosen Ward 7 Alderman Joe McMenamin as his new pro tem. The role of a pro tem is to fill in on any mayoral duties if the mayor cannot; this includes city council meetings or other terms of business. Langfelder said the reason he chose McMenamin is because he always expresses his opinion. “That’s what I’d like,” Langfelder said. “I don’t pick ‘yes’ people.
