Democratic county officials in the 48th State Senate District are spelling out the process of replacing former Senator Andy Manar, whose resignation became official over the weekend.
Applicants seeking to be considered for an appointment to fill out the last two years of Manar’s term must submit a resume, a statement of their vision for the district, and a headshot to il48senate@gmail.com by next Monday at 5pm. Finalists will be interviewed on January 30th and 31st, with a final selection expected on February 6th.
Among those being considered for the seat are Springfield Alderwoman Doris Turner, Springfield Park Board member Lisa Badger, Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe, and former alderman and WMAY talk host Frank McNeil.
