Cresco Labs said Tuesday it had obtained approval for its 10th Illinois dispensary, to be built in Naperville. The adult-use dispensary under Chicago-based Cresco’s Sunnyside brand will be located in one of the busiest shopping areas of Naperville, the state’s third-largest city.
“We have been consistent in choosing locations for our dispensaries in Illinois, focusing on high-traffic areas in traditional retail environments,” said Cresco CEO Charlie Bachtell. “Our approach of meeting the consumer where they are and providing a normalized cannabis shopping experience is allowing our dispensaries in Illinois and all Sunnyside stores nationwide to outperform industry averages.”
Upon final approval from the state for the Naperville location, Cresco will operate the maximum allowed 10 dispensaries in Illinois. Retail sales by licensed cannabis dispensaries reached $31.5 million statewide last month and $235.7 million year-to-date through August 31, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
