GURNEE – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is encouraging community members to nominate older residents for the Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame.
“In the midst of such a difficult moment for many seniors, there’s no better time to nominate them for the Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame,” Mason said in a news release. “Seniors contribute so much to our communities and they deserve to be celebrated for their good deeds and hard work.”
The Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame was created by the General Assembly in 1994 to honor the accomplishments of residents who are 65 or older. Once a year, four Illinois seniors are inducted into the hall of fame for their work in community service, education, arts or the labor force. Nominations for 2020 inductees must be submitted by Aug. 31.
