Lt. Gov. tours Rockford businesses

ROCKFORD — Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton came to town Friday to talk with small businesses owners about how they’re reopening and readjusting their businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stratton’s itinerary included stops at Ethnic Heritage Museum, Rockford Art Deli and Rock Cut State Park.

Stratton, the state’s 48th lieutenant governor, oversees a statewide Justice, Equity and Opportunity initiative, chairs the Illinois Council on Women and Girls, the Governor’s Rural Affairs Council, the Military Economic Development Council and the Illinois Rivers Coordinating Council. A native of the South Side of Chicago, Stratton previously represented the 5th District in the Illinois House of Representatives.
