State Senator Patrick Joyce has commented on a new tax bill that has gone into effect. Joyce said that residents in his district, which includes portions of the WCSJ listening area, pay up to three times the national average on property taxes.

That’s why he said he supported the latest tax relief bill. Joyce said the bill allows county governments to approve 2020 homestead exemptions for those with disabilities, veterans and senior citizens, as long as the property had been given exemption in 2019.
