Route 38 in St. Charles and Geneva was temporarily shut down Friday due to a peaceful protest that ended with no arrests, according to the Geneva and St. Charles Police Departments.

The protest started in front of the Kane County Courthouse in downtown Geneva. The Geneva police were in front of protestors in the roadway to provide passage as they traveled down State Street to Randall Road as protestors demonstrated in recognition of the Minneapolis death of George Floyd, who died in police custody earlier this week after now-former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck.

26-Delivered
