ROCKFORD – A democrat comes to Rockford to make the case that he should be Illinois’ next Attorney General.
State Rep. Scott Drury is a former federal prosecutor who wants to see the office become more aggressive when it comes to prosecution of corruption.
“The office needs to be used to talk about broad policy issues,” said Drury. “The issue of criminal justice reform, the issue of what can an Attorney General do when there are bad policies being proposed at the national level, we need someone who is willing to stand up and fight.”
Drury says he attended meetings in the Stateline area to seek report. He faces a potentially crowded field of candidates, which could include former Gov. Pat Quinn.
